New GP

Charlotte Medical Practice is delighted to announce the arrival of a new GP.

Dr Ian Wilson will start on Monday the 28th of January and will initially be consulting all day Monday, Tuesday &  Wednesday morning.

He is moving into the area from Aberdeenshire where he has been a partner in a practice in Inverurie.

We are very pleased that he has agreed to join our team.

Flu Vaccines

We now have stock of all catagories of Influenza vaccine, so if you are eligible for it, please phone 01387 267626 to arrange an appointment

Patient Self Check In Screen

In order to minimise the queues at the front desk, we have installed a Patient Self Check In Screen.

If you just want to tell us that you have arrived for your appointment, there's no need to queue at Reception, just use the touch screen to arrive yourself.

If you need any help, the Reception Team will be happy to show you how to use it.

Shingles Vaccine

From the 1st of September 2018,  everbody born between 2nd September 1938 and 1st September1948 will be eligible for a Shingles vaccination.

This vaccination can reduce your risk of getting shingles, or, if you do get shingles, it can reduce how serious the symptoms can be.

If you think you may be eligible, please call the surgery to make an appointment with the nurse.

Scottish Bowel Screening Programme

Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in Scotland after lung and breast cancer. Every year, almost 4,000 people are diagnosed with the disease.

The Scottish Bowel Screening Programme invites all men and women in Scotland between the ages of 50 to 74 for screening every two years.

At Charlotte Medical Practice, we believe that the bowel Screening Programme is important as it aims to find bowel cancer at an early stage in people with no symptoms. If bowel cancer is detected early enough through screening, there is a 90% chance of treating the disease successfully.

For more information about the Scottish Bowel Screening Programme, including step by step instructions for using the bowel screening kit, please go to www.bowelscreening.scot.nhs.uk

If you need an additional testing kit, please let us know and we will organise one to be sent out to you.

NHS24 new number is 111

The telephone number for NHS24 has changed. It is now free to call NHS24 by dialling 111

Please note that if you call the surgery and are transferred to NHS24, you will still be charged a standard telephone rate for the call. To avoid the charge, just hang up and redial 111.

Free Appointment reminders by text

We can now send you a text reminder 24 hours before your appointment. Please make sure we have your up-to-date mobile phone number so that you can benefit from this service.
