Some of the ways that they can help you are:

  • General Medication enquires – if you have any queries regarding the use of a specific medicine, side effects, interactions, any concerns
  • Managing long-term conditions – they could discuss the medicines you are taking to make sure they are working for you
  • After a stay in the hospital – if your medicines have been changed, they can help explain them and help you get the maximum benefit from the change
  • Reviewing your medicines – ideally, all patients on long-term medicines should have yearly reviews
  • Experiencing side effects – if you are experiencing side effects, we can discuss the best options, such as adjustments or switching to another medication.

First Contact Physiotherapist

Charlotte Medical Practice has a First Contact Physiotherapist 

Ruth Bell
– Monday & Friday all day & on a Wednesday morning

Our First Contact Physiotherapist can:

  • Assess you and diagnose what is happening
  • Give expert advice on how best to manage your condition
  • Refer you for further treatment, investigations, or specialist services if required.

Primary Care Mental Health Nurses

Primary Care Mental Health Nurses offer mental health assessment and short-term therapy for patients with mild to moderate mental health issues.

Charlotte Medical Practice has two Primary Care Mental Health Nurses

Mel Styles
– all day Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Debbie Parker
– all day Monday & Friday PM

They can help with various mental health issues including:

  • Low mood/depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Adjustment issues
  • Health anxiety

Support includes self-help advice, self-management materials & individual therapy.

The Mental Health nurse will establish your needs, advise you of services that can help, or option within the Mental Health Services or if required arrange review appointments.

The Primary Care Mental Health Nurses are unsuitable for patients who currently engage with Mental Health services, you should contact your Keyworker for help.

Health Visitors – Helping you to better health.

Health Visitors are all qualified nurses, with special training and experience in child health, health promotion and health education. We are here to listen to you and to help advise and support you in all sorts of situations. Our aim is to help you and your children lead as healthy a life as possible, both physically and mentally. We are here for everyone: families with children, couples, single people, young people and older people. We can advise, listen and, if necessary, direct you to specialist help e.g. Speech Therapy, Psychology, Drug & Alcohol Service
